We are establishing the Mimumimu no Mori Children’s Future Fund based on four hopes:
1. To bring rich musical experiences to children.
2. To create an environment where musicians can grow while connecting with their communities.
3. To connect local communities and the world through music.
4. To nurture musical culture together with people in Japan and around the world.

1. To bring rich musical experiences to children

For the past fifteen years, with the support of Japan’s Ministry of Education and local Boards of Education, Mimumimu no Mori has presented concerts for children and families throughout Japan.
As we continued our activities, people from Boards of Education and schools told us that some families cannot afford to come to concert halls, making it difficult to invite every child to concerts.
We wanted every child to have the chance to experience live music.
That wish became one of the reasons we decided to establish this fund.

2. To create an environment where musicians can grow while connecting with their communities

Through our activities, we have learned that music creates connections with children and local communities, and that our work is only possible because of the support of so many people.
We came to believe that, if we want these connections to continue into the future, it is important for musicians to grow—not only as performers, but also as people who use music to contribute to society while working closely with their communities.
Through this fund, we hope to pass on the experience and knowledge that we have built together with schools, Boards of Education, local governments, and local communities to the next generation, and to create an environment where musicians can learn from one another, support one another, and develop new musical activities together with their communities.

3. To connect local communities and the world through music

When we studied abroad, we met friends from many different countries.
Those friendships remain one of the greatest treasures of our lives.
Today, many of those friends have returned to their own countries and are working as musicians and music educators.
Through this fund, we hope to make use of those international friendships to create opportunities for children in Japan and overseas to learn from one another through online exchanges, collaborative chamber music and ensemble performances, and cultural exchange activities.
We hope that music, our common language, will help children build friendships and trust that go beyond differences in nationality and language.

4. To nurture musical culture together with people in Japan and around the world

This fund is also a way for people not only in Japan but around the world to take part in building a better future through music.
Whether through donations, sponsorship, lending venues or equipment, sharing professional skills, or volunteering, we welcome everyone to participate in their own way.
Through these efforts, we hope that music will connect people, communities, and countries.

We hope people will discover the music and culture of different communities, and the thoughts and feelings behind them, helping them come to know one another better.
If people around the world can smile together beyond the differences between us, nothing would make us happier as musicians.
